Please don’t forget - giving is the reason for the season
“It’s cold outside,” “the constant bell ringing gets on my nerves,” or “I just don’t have the time” are all reasons why most people decide not to ring bells for The Salvation Army.
Now those excuses are no longer good. The Salvation Army is again giving you the opportunity to “ring the bell” from home by hosting your own personalized Online Red Kettle (ORK). With just a few clicks of the mouse and very little time you can set up your own kettle and help raise much-needed funds without leaving the warmth of your own home.
Hosting an ORK allows you to become a vital component of the fundraising effort. By sending e-mails to friends, family or posting the link on your Facebook page you’ll be amazed as your kettle fills with donations.
The Salvation Army has put a lot of effort and time making the ORK much more user-friendly. Setting up your own ORK only takes a couple of minutes and the benefits can last years. To begin setting up your own ORK, please visit www.onlineredkettle.com.
If you are not afraid of a little cold weather and want to take part in an American tradition, The Salvation Army still has plenty of opportunities to be a volunteer bellringer this Christmas season. For more information about bellringing, please call Sheila R Davis at 314.646.3166.
